An all-in-one platform

One platform to run your organization.

OpenCommunity lets you keep attendance, memberships, programs, payments, and communications in one place, so your team spends less time on coordinating and more time with the people you serve.

It all fits together

An all-in-one platform,
not a mix of tools

Most non-profit organizations run on a mix of sign-in sheets, paper and online forms, spreadsheets, and email lists - then spend afternoons putting the data together.

OpenCommunity replaces that patchwork - with a single intelligent platform: every member sign-in, new registration, and user update is automatically recorded in the right place.

A front desk where a visitor signs in while sign-in sheets, calendars, forms, spreadsheets, emails, and printouts all flow into one central system.

FAQ

Questions organizations ask us

What does OpenCommunity actually do?
OpenCommunity is participant and member management software for nonprofits and community organizations in Canada. It handles sign-in, program schedules, attendance, member and household records, payment tracking, and announcements in one system, so a centre can replace its paper sign-in sheets, spreadsheets, and separate mailing tools.
Is OpenCommunity built for nonprofits specifically?
Yes, OpenCommunity is purpose-built for nonprofits and member-based organizations such as neighbourhood houses, family resource centres, and early years centres, rather than a sales CRM adapted after the fact. Records, programs, attendance, and funder reporting are shaped around how community organizations actually run.
How do participants sign in to a program?
Participants sign in at a tablet or kiosk by looking up their phone number and entering a PIN. OpenCommunity records that attendance against the person, the household, and the session immediately, so the front desk keeps no paper sheet and nobody re-enters the day's numbers later.
How does OpenCommunity help with funder reporting?
OpenCommunity builds funder reports from live attendance and demographic data, so program totals are ready the day a funder or board asks. Because sign-in, registration, and member updates all write to one record, the numbers in a report match what actually happened, and you can export them for your funders.
Can OpenCommunity run multiple centres or chapters?
Yes, OpenCommunity supports multiple centres or chapters under one account, each with its own members, programs, and staff. Each site's data stays isolated, so a team sees only its own records unless you grant wider access. Adding a site does not mean standing up a separate system.
Where is our data stored, and is it secure?
OpenCommunity hosts your data on Canadian infrastructure, encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is role-based, so each staff person reaches only the records their job requires, and participant information stays private by default. Waivers, consents, and notes sit with the member they belong to, not in a shared drive.
Can we accept donations and issue tax receipts?
Yes, OpenCommunity records donations against the donor's member record and issues official CRA tax receipts automatically, including your charity details and registration number. Gifts can be captured at the kiosk, through the member portal, or entered by staff, and each donor's full giving history stays in one place.
How is participant data protected under Canadian privacy law?
Participant information is handled in line with PIPEDA and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act. It is collected with consent, kept on Canadian infrastructure, and reachable only by the staff roles you authorize, so a participant record is never more widely visible than the job requires. Your organization remains the owner of its records.
What does OpenCommunity cost, and how do we start?
OpenCommunity is in early access with pricing on request, and it is designed to be affordable for nonprofits. The quickest start is a demo, where the team walks through OpenCommunity using programs like yours, or a trial, where you set up your first sessions and members yourself.
