## Questions and answers

### How do members sign in to a program?

Members sign in at a tablet kiosk by looking up their phone number. OpenCommunity records the visit and the session straight away, so the front desk does not need a paper sheet and nobody needs to type the day's attendance into a spreadsheet later.

### Do members need to download an app?

No, members do not need an app, although they can access the mobile-optimized portal on their phone if they wish. Sign-in happens at a kiosk (pre-loaded on a tablet or laptop), where they sign into the secure web portal in any browser to see their visit history, update contact details and read announcements. There is nothing to install or support on personal phones.

### Who on our team can see member information?

Access can be set up in two levels (admin and staff), or even role-based, so each staff person sees only the member records their job requires. Participant information is private by default, kept on Canadian infrastructure and handled in line with PIPEDA and BC PIPA, and your organization remains the owner of its records.
